The Department of Clinical Psychology includes community services for all of Birmingham, along with specialist clinical psychology based at the regional child psychiatry service (at Parkview Clinic and the Children’s Hospital). The Paediatric Psychology Team also work at the Children's Hospital, along with Play Services.
The Department has bases sited across the city at the Children’s Hospital, Carnegie Centre, Parkview Clinic, Small Heath and Sutton Coldfield. In addition, community clinics are held across the city in many of the health centres and other child health facilities e.g. Child Development Centres.
The Department is one of the largest Child Psychology Services in the country. It is a focus for research and there are well-established links with the University of Birmingham. The Department regularly contributes to Doctoral Clinical Psychology courses (at Birmingham, Coventry and Warwick,) providing teaching, training and supervision.
