Our Diabetes unit has been delivering fantastic care for more than 30 years and is one of the largest in the UK. We aim to go above and beyond the standards set out by the Department of Health, in making every child and young person with diabetes matter.

We provide a diabetes service that includes education and support for young people and their families, but we also aim to equip them with the knowledge and skills to manage their diabetes independently. A key part of the service is a tailored diabetes course, which is designed for children and their families, after learning that a child has diabetes. We also have our Live Life to the Max sessions to help with living with diabetes and make sure it won’t get in the way of all the fun things children and young people often want to do.
